Thanks. So the uinput module isn't automatically loaded in a default ubuntu installation. I've modified the postinst script now to load uinput if necessary add uinput to /etc/modules if it's not already there. Is that the right way to do it (it's how thinkfinger does it) or should I have the daemon load the uinput module if necessary? Packages will appear in my PPA in about 20 minutes.
