I just got the same problem carrying out the automatic update on 8.10 recently installed and fully updated (until now).
It 'broke' openoffice.org.calc, org-gnome, org-gtk, org-impress, org- math, org-writer and python-uno. I attempted to repair the broken packages in synaptic package manager (first clearing the cache) and got: E: /var/cache/apt/archives/openoffice.org-calc_1%3a2.4.1-11ubuntu2.1_i386.deb: short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/openoffice/program/libsc680li.so') E: /var/cache/apt/archives/openoffice.org-core_1%3a2.4.1-11ubuntu2.1_i386.deb: conflicting packages - not installing openoffice.org-core I hope this helps. -- package openoffice.org-core 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/openoffice/program/liboox680li.so') https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301927 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
