That's very odd, because the installer *only* sets up /etc/default
/console-setup (and X is supposed to pick things up from there); it
certainly doesn't do anything which I would expect to set up X and not
the console!
Could you please attach /var/log/installer/syslog to this bug, and give
me an indication of whether you did anything at all unusual other than
just a straight installation?
