No sound on Jaunty on IBM Thinkpad R31, IBM Thinkpad T40, Compaq Presario 3.3 gHz.
Both Jaunty upgraded to Alpha level and Alpha Alternate Install have no sound. Copying alsactl from Intrepid sbin to Jaunty sbin enables remembering the sound level control instead of always forcing mute. However, still no sound on all three machines. On Intrepid they all three play sound provided the update to 2.6.27-10 is NOT installed.
