OK guys,

I need to go to bed now,

anyway:

Look at my commands on bug #294667:

I hear the alsa-base thing crashing during reboot: a very audible 'beep'
this is libcanberra-login sound. I also can here the gnome-volume-
control become unstable shortly after loging, like when you turn up
front boost or microphone boost. Very ugly sound.

This has went away with the new kernels, but with the backports-modules
it is back. My modprobe iwl3945 problem went away again with
deinstalling, but not libcanberra-login-sound.

I will explain further tomorrow end try for a Backtrace of gnome-keyring
or nm-connection-editor or even dbus-launch.

We 'll see ...
