It's the same thing with the other users (both admin and non-admin privileges).
After carefull investigation it turnes out I was not entirely correct: the volume DOES change when you move the slider, but the change is not remembered - the moment you hit the volume button again it's reset to the default value and the sound volume is instantly adjusted accordingly. Global system volume workes correctly. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: totem - Changing volume setting has no effect and is not remembered + Volume setting is not remembered ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/totem-gstreamer NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: totem-gstreamer 2.24.3-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: totem Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic x86_64 ** Summary changed: - Changing volume setting has no effect and is not remembered + Volume setting is not remembered -- Volume setting is not remembered https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/302389 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
