I find that only Firefox is affected (under Linux 8.10), all my other applications behave as they should.
If I have multiple Firefox windows plus other applications open and only want to close an individual browser window, I can either Alt+F4 whilst viewing it, or Alt+Tab to a non-Firefox window and then right-click the one I want to close, then select Close from the pop-up menu. If I've only got multiple Firefox windows open, I have to Alt+Tab to the appropriate one and Alt+F4 to close it.
