Ubuntu has stopped using gnome-volume-manager altogether some releases
ago, so this is obsolete now. If it still happens for you, please file a
bug against nautilus.

I can't personally test it, since I only have a USB CD-ROM. This also
appears twice, but for a completely different reason (USB device suspend
doesn't work in the kernel (bug 230671).
