1) Try the fixes detailed in 'HOWTO: PulseAudio Fixes & System-Wide Equalizer Support' at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578 . This article really should resolve most of the problems for users who dist-upgraded from 8.04. If that works, then please close the bug report (or let me know and I will close it for you). 2) If that doesn't work, then please include the information requested from the "Reporting Sound Bugs" section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems as separate attachments.
