Public bug reported:

Hi brothers, i would like to report an anomaly of my laptop's ubuntu
since i'm upgrading to ibex

I have used ubuntu on my laptop since the feisty fawn release. It worked
smoothly when i installed feisty to hardy, even though i have to install
the wireless drivers in a weird way when i used the hardy.

My Laptop Specs:
HP Pavilion dv2116wm
AMD Turion64 X2 1.6 GHz
2 GB RAM
Broadcom Wireless LAN (b43 driver)

In previous releases, i never got unreasonable crashes. It won't crash
as long i don't do anything weird. But, when i'm using ibex, random
crashes have happened without i knowing the problem myself.

Symptoms:
1.System Freezes
2.all input devices (mouse, keyboard) is unable to operate at all
3.Power button is unable to send shutdown signal at all, so i have to force the
shutdown by pressing the power button in 5 secs.
4. caps lock key indicator blinks on and off

It have been occurred for about 3-5 times since my installation last
month. Haven't found the triggers. The system just crashes. Fortunately,
the system haven't ever crashed at any of my school's presentation. But
it sure a bit annoying.

First Incident :
At night, I open Transmission Bittorent Client and went to sleep.
At the morning, the screen is clear black, not responding at all, and caps lock
indicator blinked

Second Incident :
Same as above, but i also open totem movie player to listen to music from an
external hard drive (WD MyBook Essentials 750 GB)

Third Incident :
crashed a few hours after kernel update (a week or two weeks ago)

Fourth incident:
Boot up the system, Logged in, Opened Totem movie player, pidgin, transmission,
firefox, ooo writer at the same time. After that, Opened a new tab in FF and
the system just crashed (the weirdest [????])

Fifth Incident :
Same as the third incident, but it was just yesterday (Nov 27)

NB : It is getting more frequent since the latest kernel update.

I'm not so sure what packages might be involved on this, but i think it
is related to the kernel.

If further information is required, please tell me how to get the info

Thank you
