hi Daniel, when i upgraded to 8.10 (from 8.04), 3 weeks ago, i got hundreds of the following error in my procmail log:
Wed Nov 12 13:27:02 2008 couldn't connect to lmtpd: Permission denied 421 4.3.0 deliver: couldn't connect to lmtpd i had forgotten about this bug report, so i didn't took note of what i did to fix it this time. i just noticed though that after upgrading cyrus this Wednesday -- just before leaving work -- i got the same problem again (i noticed on the logs). This time i fixed by doing: $ sudo chmod a+rx /var/run/cyrus/socket/ I'm not sure how sensitive (security-wise) are the socket files therein. So i'm not sure if this solution would be preferred to my previous suggestion of chmod'ing a+s /usr/sbin/cygdeliver. there has to be some safe way of a normal user to deliver email fetched/filtered by fetchmail/procmail. I'm not sure what is the correct way to do this with cyrus though. cheers! - jan -- Can't deliver emails on cyrus-imapd, lmtpd permissions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194134 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
