Hi,
I am the developer who included the script that suspends pulseaudio on
starting mscore. This is because, if pulse is running on a card that
does not provide hardware mixing, mscore will have no access to that
card. Until pulse supports mmap access, or portaudio provides a
pulseaudio backend, or OSS replaces ALSA, this script will have to stay
in place.
I am marking the bug invalid, as it is not currently fixable in mscore.
