Hi, when upgrading, I choose the option "do 3 way merge (experimental)" for menu.lst and that resulted in error. Later I did a reinstall of the linux kernel image and choose the option "install package's version" and that worked and fixed menu.lst file.
I had changes in menu.lst for savedefault and changing "queit splash" to "irqpoll". Other than that I don't have any other changes in menu.lst file. Hope that helps. Regards, Jagan. ________________________________ From: Florian Diesch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2008 6:47:04 AM Subject: [Bug 303021] Re: package linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic 2.6.27-9.19 failed to install/upgrade: when upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10 Unfortunately they got deleted when you rebooted. Maybe the system shouldn't keep error logs there... The logs you attached say that there was a problem when merging your old menu.lst with the new one. Your menu.lst looks good.
