I confirm this. It also manifests itself for much smaller files. It can stop stop several times for files no larger than 20MB. I cannot recall downloads 100MB or larger running without stopping. It is totally unpredictable.
I have also had a similar problem when saving a single page. The save causes a download progress bar to appear. For certain pages (don't know what is peculiar about them) the 'download' stops, but this time the resume workaround does not work.
