This "bug" is by design - a great many source packages use sqlite3 in
some fashion:
$ sudo apt-get -s remove libsqlite3-0|grep ^Remv|wc -l
311
** Changed in: sqlite3 (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Won't Fix

Uninstall "libsqlite3-0" from the packet manager results in mass uninstall
requirements.
