Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
The HTTP anwser send by the server is
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Mon, 01 Dec 2008 10:48:40 GMT
Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1
X-Powered-By: Servlet 2.4; Tomcat-5.0.28/JBoss-4.0.0 (build:
CVSTag=JBoss_4_0_0 date=200409200418)
Content-Disposition: filename=0025570x.di021222.02p0075s.pdf
Content-Type: application/octet-stream
Content-Length: 2870193
Via: 1.0 192.168.1.6
Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100
Connection: Keep-Alive
Here the server tell Firefox that the file is of type
"application/octet-stream" and so Firefox handles it like that. This is a
common problem, but it needs to be fixed on the server side.
As far as I know MS Internet Explorer is the only Browser that usedvthe file
extension instead of the HTTP Content-Type to decide how to handle a file.
As this issue not not really a bug in Ubuntu I'm going to marks it as
"Invalid"
** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu)
