Ubuntu 8.10: After the system has been up and running for a time, audio
playback stops working. I do not see any relation to a specific
application but if I haven't used any audio playback for some hours,
then it takes a reboot to get it working again. This seems to affect any
audio, whether browser-plug-in (Yahoo news, for example) or system
audio, such as the playing of a CD.
