Does this problem happen only when you have some media content running
such as video? If so you may need to change the GStreamer properties.
Open a terminal window (Applications - Accessories - Terminal) then
start typing in gstreamer-properties, while you are typing press tab to
get linux's predictive texting to help. Gstreamer-properties gives a
pop-up box, choose the Video tab and on the Output drop-down menu select
the one that has '... (No Xv)' in it. If that doesn't solve the problem
then set it back to Auto or whatever it was on.

If its not a problem to do with ati graphics card and movie players then
does the same problem happen in other web-browsers such as Opera, Dillo
etc?

Good luck and have fun :)
