** Description changed:

- Nautilus is taking all memory and is rampaging the hard disk when it tries to
generate thumbnails for images scanned in bitmap mode (png or tiff in 2-bit per
pixels for me) but in very high definition (over 10000x10000 but in bitmap it
gives you an image that is weighting only 700ko)...below 10000, it's getting a
hard time but it generates the thumbnails....but over 10000 I can't see the end
of the generating of the thumbnail, it goes on and on....maybe it's because
it's trying to smooth the thumbnail....because no problem to open an image like
this in mtpaint...but in gimp it's all the same problem that I have in nautilus
....taking the ram to a point there is not enough an then goes to hard disk to
continue it's operation.

I can see that programs that generates thumbnails can process those images
with no effort, I think it's because they get the embedded thumbnail of the
tiff....but if it tries to generate one it's nightmare
