Hello!
I have a Gateway M-Series laptop (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 with HDMI; Intel
STAC92xx). I have been running Intrepid since the last alpha. Initially, sound
did not work at all - not unusual, for an early pre-release. When it finally
got fixed, I was left with a problem that manifests as follows:

- If I boot with headphones or external speakers connected, sound output
via those speakers is OK; if I boot without connecting these, sound
output via the front jacks doesn't work, although the laptop front
speakers still work.

I have not yet tried the workaround suggested above. My setup is fully
up-to-date as at this point in time.

Thanks.
