Public bug reported: Well I have a Linksys WMP54GS Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster on Ubuntu 8.10 it was working well, but I updated the system on thursday and started to notice lower speeds, at first I thought it was due to a problem with my connection, but via ethernet I get full speed so was due to something on the update
i downgraded to intrepid version and im getting back normal speed uname -r: 2.6.27-10-generic lspci: 07:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02) Subsystem: Linksys Device 0042 Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap- 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 32 Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 21 Region 0: Memory at e0204000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] Kernel driver in use: b43-pci-bridge Kernel modules: ssb dmesg: [ 3932.656530] b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 410.2160 (2007-05-26 15:32:10) [ 3932.749299] Registered led device: b43-phy0::tx [ 3932.750938] Registered led device: b43-phy0::rx [ 3932.751304] Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio [ 3932.781512] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready [ 3932.913670] type=1503 audit(1228333733.175:17): operation="inode_permission" requested_mask="::r" denied_mask="::r" fsuid=116 name="/proc/6445/net/if_inet6" pid=6447 profile="/usr/sbin/named" [ 3933.572661] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:40:10:10:00:03 [ 3933.772055] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:40:10:10:00:03 [ 3933.972027] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:40:10:10:00:03 [ 3934.172027] wlan0: authentication with AP 00:40:10:10:00:03 timed out [ 3941.194137] type=1503 audit(1228333741.455:18): operation="inode_permission" requested_mask="::r" denied_mask="::r" fsuid=116 name="/proc/6445/net/if_inet6" pid=6447 profile="/usr/sbin/named" ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu1.8.10.1 slows down speed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/304916 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
