please give us your system specs (CPU, mem, etc.)
Also please stop firefox (at best relogin to be sure) and run firefox
like
strace -eopen -f firefox 2>&1 | tee /tmp/strace.log.txt
then reproduce, wait a bit and attach the strace.log.txt file
