Thanks for the response. I have a Synaptics touchpad on my laptop. In most application windows in which it is possible to scroll horizontally, I can do so by running my finger across the bottom edge of the touchpad. I can also scroll vertically by running my finger across the right edge of the touchpad.
In Firefox windows, the vertical scrolling behaviour is as usual. However, when I run my finger across the bottom of the touchpad, the browser interprets the action as a request to go backward or forward in the browser history. This sometimes results in the browser going backward or forward in the browser history even when I intend just to move the mouse cursor -- namely, when I accidentally touch the pad too close to the bottom edge. This behaviour is extremely annoying. I should note that Epiphany does not have this problem -- it interprets the horizontal scrolling action as horizontal scrolling. -- Cannot disable mouse gestures https://launchpad.net/bugs/68208 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
