Still reproducible in 8.10. With openjdk-6-jdk 6b12-0ubuntu6 and eclipse-cdt 3.1.2-2 content assist blocks the UI for 5-10 seconds before the content assist list is displayed. Using sun-java6-jdk 6-10-0ubuntu2 the content assist list is displayed after ~100-200ms.
