Yes, that's right. When I was creating my own project in LP I also
thought I will create my own translation group, but after that I found
out that only very few projects use this approach, so I used just Open
policy. Furthermore it is not possible to create a group automatically
but you have to ask for it (I guess). That doesn't mean you can't do it.
I would recommend you to ask for the right approach in Rosetta Answers
(please subscribe me also, if you do it). But in every case Ubuntu
Translators is not the right group.

If you want just gather translator credits, you can let Rosetta do it 
automatically and no groups are needed. Just insert "translators-credits" 
string into translations. See

Lubos, it should be now possible to translate The Mana World for you.
You just have to go through your suggestions and use "copy text" button
to copy your suggestions into (now real) translation fields.
