Wow, this is EXACTLY what is happening with my Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 system except I could never get it to work properly.
It happens with the "stock" 2.6.27-7-generic kernel but also with the autoupdated 2.6.27-9-generic as well. My CPU is an Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3360. # modprobe acpi-cpufreq FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.27-9-generic/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device # lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 I don't think it's problem with my BIOS because if I reboot into Debian/Lenny amd64, it works just fine. Does anyone have a suggestion? -- [2.6.27-7-generic] no cpufreq available https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288592 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
