I believe I've seen this as well on a Lenovo T61 w/ iwl4965. Running kernel linux-headers-2.6.27-9-generic.
I found the following thread that describes the same issue. http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel.wireless.general/23374 I retrofit the patch from 2.6.28 to 2.6.27-9 (see http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel.wireless.general/23374).
