I'm a little confused because when I got the email it looked like your disk serial numbers were long and space padded on the front, but looking at the message on launchpad now, they aren't. Maybe lp is eating the duplicate spaces. Since the package in the other bug report worked for you, try dmraid - 1.0.0.rc15-1~exp1ubuntu1~ppa1 in my PPA in which I have also added the serial number fix.
