Please explain the 'freeze'. Does the whole system freeze? Just the CD drive
becomes unresponsive?
What application are you using to perform the disk operations? Nautilus? Thunar?
Can you perform the actions from the command line? ('cp /media/cdrom/foo
/Desktop') If not, what kind of error is generated?
Do audio CDs play? Do the problem CDs work properly in another machine?
Can you please attach (don't paste) your /var/log/syslog and /var/log/dmesg
after replicating a freeze?
(Please do not add noise to the bug report by repeatedly posting 'I
still have this problem'. It won't help you.)
