I'm not sure if this is the Intel driver or xorg in general. I opened
a newegg search (what it was is irrelevant; it didn't trigger death when
firefox reopened it) and the screen went blank. The screen was very
corrupted when the video came back. The defaut "X" cursor was present.
Then the screen went blank again. The circumstances happened a few
times before I tried to switch to VT1. I succeeded (from what I can
tell), but the image was still corrupted. It was clearly the console,
though. I hit power to reboot. On reboot, the video was fine.
