Public bug reported: Binary package hint: file
The RIFF magic in file(1) doesn't detect DTS audio encapsulated in WAV files. This is detected by media frameworks (ffmpeg, for instance), and though the tag isn't always used--see bug 305315--it does legitimately exist. http://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php?title=DTS Currently, DTS WAV files are detected as, for instance, "WAVE audio, stereo", when they should be detected as "WAVE audio, DTS, stereo".
