I have not had this problem with the new version. The problem seems to
have been caused by me changing the hostname and domain of the system
incorrectly. Once everything was put back to the original Apt began to
install properly again.

Subject: [Bug 153968] Re: Adept Version Upgrade stalls at the point of
installing packages

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Status in “update-manager” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: adept-updater

Currently running Kubuntu Gutsy Beta

1. Start Adept
2. Update Sources - Version Upgrade button is displayed
3. Click Version Upgrade
4. Click through prompts
5. Updater installs, source lists are updated, updates are downloaded
6. Step 4 of the upgrade is the installation of the packages that were
downloaded.
This is where the process fails. Nothing happens and the progress never moves
from 0% - it just hangs.
