I have managed to install the stk11xx driver, and it works fine for this driver (cheese doesn't seem to like it, but camorama and skype work fine). This page is in french http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/syntek, but i think it gives a full explanation (I only found it after I installed the driver, when I was searching for the good parameters). maybe someone should make a package or something that installs this driver automatically.
