Oh, I forgot an important thing... this is the lsusb output:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsusb
Bus 002 Device 007: ID 058f:6362 Alcor Micro Corp. Hi-Speed 21-in-1 Flash Card
Reader/Writer (Internal/External)
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 04cf:8818 Myson Century, Inc. USB2.0 to ATAPI Bridge
Controller
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 009: ID 041e:4068 Creative Technology, Ltd WebCam Live! Notebook
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

And another important thing: the USB card reader works fine, because I'm
able to use a 2Gb SD with it on my desktop PC with Ubuntu 8.10, so why
the 16Gb one doesn't work?
