The point of the excercise we did in Hardy with python-xml was to get it
out of the path so that it would not over-ride newer versions of XML
modules provided by both Python 2.4 and 2.5.
The python-xml package is obsolete and unmaintained. The correct
solution in these cases is for the application to switch to a supported
XML module.
As indicated in the site you linked to, the module can be added back to
the path manually as a work around.
