Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hplip
Using Ubuntu 8.10, hplip 2.8.7-0ubuntu6, HP Laserjet p3005d connected via USB. The printer was recognised and installing apparently OK. It would successfully print one print job, but would then appear to have disconnected. Physically unplugging and replugging the USB cable would cause it to "reappear" and function normally ... but again, only for one print job. tail \var\log\syslog as follows: === Dec 8 11:10:07 paul-desktop-linux HP_LaserJet_P3005?serial=CNK1C68797: io/hpmud/dot4.c 231: unable to read Dot4ReverseReply header: Resource temporarily unavailable bytesRead=0 Dec 8 11:10:07 paul-desktop-linux HP_LaserJet_P3005?serial=CNK1C68797: io/hpmud/dot4.c 319: invalid DOT4InitReply retrying command... CUPS now shows the device URI as usb://HP/LaserJet%20P3005, and consecutive jobs appear to print normally. Although this works, I have no idea WHY it works, and (perhaps unfairly) assume some problem in hplip. -- Paul Stanley ** Affects: hplip (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot print consecutive jobs on HP Laserjet 3005d without disconnecting and reconnecting USB https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306204 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
