To create the test case, you'd want to do the following: 1. Download the latest stable package from gourmet. 2. Create a few recipes with ingredients. 3. Upgrade to the ubuntu package. 4. Notice that your ingredients have disappeared.
I'm not sure if my patch will actually fix this -- what it will do is make a backup of the DB before it gets hosed. (It might also fix it -- I forget which code I kept and which I deleted -- I was aiming to get it smaller as fast as possible). Regarding timing, I guess it depends how you measure it. I figure every Gourmet user whose data gets hosed by this upgrade is likely a user lost. But of course I realize this is a pretty obscure little corner of the ubuntu world and that recipe data may not seem like the most important data there is. -- Upgrading from 0.13.x to 0.14.0 wipes out ingredient database https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
