What kind of applications are these? 32-bit or 64-bit? Could this be as simple as not installing the 32-bit version of this shared library? What does ldd on an affected application return? The output of "objdump -x /usr/bin/XXXX" would also be useful.
Does it show up in Intrepid, or only in Jaunty?
