Not sure where you want to do this (Linux or Windows) but I guess you are currently working on the Windows side since your Ubuntu is not working. You can download md5-checkers for Windows at http://md5-check- windows.qarchive.org/ (or simpy google for many more). There is also instructions on that site.
All I'm saying is that your burn might be incorrect. You could also try to download Ubuntu again (or download xubuntu from xubuntu.org) and see if you still have the same problem.
