My bad, excuse me.

I knew I read in the Gimp Help Files that SVG was supported in/out. Then
this letter caused me to do a Google "Gimp formats" which took me to a
whole different page. There, the files supported suggested many plug-ins
added further capabilities. Sure enough, there is a Jan 2008 plug-in to
Export Paths to W3 compliant file.svg. "Provided .SVG support has been
compiled in" the plug-in description says. However, Gimp .svg export is
a script.

Ubuntu Gimp will open .SVG into a bitmap mode.

So, they moved a feature and it is not documented. This is not a bug. I
will post my findings on the 'Buntu Forums.

How can I cancel my LaunchPad Bug306300??? as Solved.

And forgive me, I want JavaFX on Linux. Windows has it. Mac has it, but
Sun delayed Linux version I suspect because of the myriad ways Linux can
do video playback. JavaFX will work .SVG which is very, very good.

regards,
victor_charlie

Just for information: I can open .svg files without problems on
Intrepid.

What happens if you try to open a .svg file in gimp?
