Hi era,
coreutils 6.10 (the one on Hardy and Intrepid) and 7.0 trunk say this
(info coreutils 'dircolors invocation'):
`--print-database'
Print the (compiled-in) default color configuration database. This
output is itself a valid configuration file, and is fairly
descriptive of the possibilities.
This seems to be, pretty much, the documentation you asked for. Does
this help?
I do not have previous versions of coreutils, so I do not know if it
this is said there also or not.
