me again... after the reboot and going back to the ath5k drivers, my wireless completely works again with no errors. the kill switch and lan activity lights dont work just as they didn't before, but i can connect to all wireless networks and signal strength is being displayed correctly in the strength meter.
so, if this happens to use and you have done the backports/blacklist procedure, comment out the blacklisted modules, init 6 it, when it loads up again, uncomment them out again and init 6 one more time.
