Public bug reported:

After a routine update I got this install problem "the configuration
defaults for the gnome power manager has not been installed correctly"
How do I solve that problem?

When I try to reinstall the GNOME power Manager in Synaptic Package Manager, I
get the following error.
dpkg: error processing gnome-power-manager (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 139
Errors were encountered while processing:
 gnome-power-manager
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Please let me know how to proceed further to get my system properly set.
Should I install the updates shown by UBUNTU or not, please let me know,
coz this is second time I'm facing problems after installing the
updates.

Thanks,
Rajeevan D
