Hello again. Unsure whether this si helpful, but my Update manager
reports no updates available, yet there is no /var/run/grub/menu.lst

I have attached a text file fo my /var/run directory along with a screenshot of 
the Update manager. I agree that my own menu.lst is most likely irrelevent.
Maybe nto - seems you can only add oen attachemnt - so here's a cut and paste 
of the /var/run directory:

Though, I would like to add, that after a fresh install, format and all,
GRUB was not installed correctly and everytime Ireboot the system I need
to type :

CONFIGFILE /boot/grub/menu.lst - to get a boot menu.

Is any of this possibly connected?
