I can't comment on >8.04.
But can confirm problem in 8.04.
To reproduce:
1) install thuban - aptitude error as above.
2) run thuban from console - get

My wxPython version is slightly different - perhaps due to update in
intervening period.
So, confirming and adding couple of duplicates.
