Although update manager believes Kile crashed during the update I don't think it did. When I tried uninstalling and installing with apt-get I would always get a message saying it crashed but Kile would run fine, implying the install went smoothly. Whenever I installed anything (using apt-get, aptitude, synaptic, etc) my system would try to "setup Kile" and fail saying
"Setting up kile (1:2.0-1)" (some other stuff) "gtk-update-icon-cache: The generated cache was invalid.", and then stop. In actuality I never needed to "setup Kile" since it always works fine. It turns out the problem was with my icon theme, hicolor. After I reinstalled the theme everything was fine. I think this bug was specific to my system. -- Kile did not upgrade when upgrading from ubuntu 7.10 to 8.4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241532 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kile in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
