The linker is supposed to treat any input files that are not valid object files as linker scripts. So either it fails to do that (its output looks like it) or, much more likely, this *is* a simple case of looking into the wrong directory. Even if the scripts were executed they'd point to the corresponding .so file in the wrong directory. I'm messing around with gcc's build system and the debian additions now - the fun never ends :/ At the moment this http://gcc.gnu.org/viewcvs?view=rev&revision=120619 and the debian patch (in the package) debian/patches/multilib64dir.dpatch look interesting.
