Sorry but it did not worked. I typed your suggestion in terminal and this is
what I got:
ke...@kenan-laptop:~$ $ apt-config dump | grep Update
bash: $: command not found
ke...@kenan-laptop:~$
ke...@kenan-laptop:~$ $ apt-config dump | grep Update
bash: $: command not found
ke...@kenan-laptop:~$

regarding packagekit please tell me where I should look to see if it is
installed.
