People, I suggest someone (yes, that includes me too) start a patchwork. One that does not use fsyncs, substituting them with either database synchronization as an option or inventing a solution where Firefox is still usable without the need to read or write from harddrive every time user opens a page.
I am going to download the source and start poking into it.
