Changing the JMicron to AHCI also had no effect, however I suspect this
is caused by an interaction between the JMicron JMB363 controller and
the ICH8R southbridge. I found an old bug (bug 57502) report (which has
since been fixed) reporting problems with the P5B Deluxe, which is the
motherboard I have. This bug may also be related (or a duplicate of) bug
198871.
